TEST PREP
Ideally, when should I start preparing?
It is best to start preparing 2 months before your first test date. This allows the student ample time to fully integrate the strategies into their testing habits. Prep can always start 3 or 4 months ahead of time for anxious students but the average student should allow at least 2 months.
What if the test is LESS THAN 1 MONTH AWAY?
Don’t panic! We can provide an intensive, condensed course in testing strategy and a review of test content.
Why 1-to-1 tutoring vs. class prep?
One-to-one test prep allows the tutor to tailor the instruction to your student, as opposed to doing “what works for most students.” It also allows the tutor to focus on the content that your student needs the most work on, while minimizing the time spent on the things they already understand.
Will homework be given?
Yes! It is imperative that your student practices the material on their own, without their tutor there. One to two hours of homework may be given per week to reinforce what was covered during the session.
What sort of improvement can I expect to see?
We will arm your student with the best strategies for each type of question and will cover all content covered in the test. However, we cannot make a student put in more effort, practice, etc. than they are willing to. Students that stick with the program and work to develop their testing skills often see increases of 200-300 points.
Can my child and his/her friend share sessions?
Yes. For joined sessions, the second student will receive 50% off. Families often choose to split the discount, each receiving 25% off the normal rates.
Are the tutors trained?
Absolutely. Additionally, each tutor is hand-selected and trained by the owners of the company. This allows us to get to know each tutors’ teaching style so we can match our student to the tutors(s) best suited for their needs.

Why should I get tutoring from a company instead of through a private individual?
There are many advantages to working with a company. At KIP Tutoring, we’ve hand picked the top tutors from piles of candidates and trained them ourselves, so we can guarantee that you will get only the best tutoring services available.
Where do the sessions occur?
In your home! We understand that today’s students have MANY commitments and scheduling can be difficult, so we make every effort to make the tutoring as convenient as possible. After all, if a student is overly exhausted from racing around, they will not be in prime learning mode during their session.
Who are your tutors?
We have tutors from a variety of backgrounds, but ALL of our tutors have a minimum of a bachelors degree AND prior tutoring experience before they even being working with KIP Tutoring. Many of our tutors also hold higher degrees.
Can we “try you out” or do I have to commit to a larger block of hours?
Though all unused hours are completely refundable, we understand that not everyone is ready t commit to a block of hours. As a result, we have an hour-by-hour option available. Please contact us to inquire further.
