"Spelling Words We Use" helps students learn to spell the most common words in the English Language. The words are presented in the order from the most common to the least common of the "Top 2000 Words". The most common include words such as "a, the, to, it, and is". By list 200, students have learned to spell more complex words such as "medicine, dollar, depend, and balloon". Students who know how to spell the 2000 words on this list will know more than 80% of the running words in almost any document written in English.

The Spell activity helps students learn to spell the words in each list. Each word is pronounced, then used in a sentence. The word can also be flashed or spelled letter-by-letter to provide instructional support when needed.

The Word Search activity reinforces recognition of the words. Students develop a visual sense of each word through this activity.

The Puzzle activity challenges students to find where words fit in a puzzle using positions of letters and lengths of words. This activity helps them develop word analysis skills.

The Dictation Sentence activity helps students spell whole sentences. The sentences use only words that have been learned previously in the program.
